Taste of Community

On October 25, we held our second Taste of Community at MAKE Farm. It was a beautiful day with all our program staff, CSA members, donors, and volunteers. Here’s how our USD College Corps volunteer, Giselle, described the day:

The farm buzzed with laughter, conversation, and curiosity. Guests toured the fields where everything at MAKE begins, the heart of our CSA boxes, and the home of our growing dreams. Together, we created colorful fence art, weaving fabric into the words MAKE FARM. Each knot tied by a different hand, each thread symbolizing the strength of our community. It was a moment that said: we’re all part of something beautiful, and the best is yet to come with our new cafe on the way.

One longtime supporter shared that her favorite part of MAKE is the “friendly, open sense of community.” When asked to describe MAKE in three words, she smiled and said, “So much good.” And she’s right, MAKE is where good things grow.

These stories are what MAKE is all about: courage, kindness, and community. Every event, every conversation, every knot on that fence tells a story of people coming together to build something meaningful.
