Our trainees learn valuable job skills through hands-on, real-world work experience in our farm, restaurant, and catering business.
Our cuisine is globally inspired by our participants’ diverse backgrounds while also highlighting the best seasonal produce sourced from our farm at SDSU Mission Valley as well as local producers and purveyors. Our vision is an inclusive San Diego united over a common love of food and culture.
Our mission to empower refugee and immigrant women and youth
with the job readiness skills to achieve their dreams.
MAKE Projects is an employment social enterprise. We operate an urban farm, restaurant, and events/catering company to provide a paid, real-world work experience for low-income refugee and immigrant women and youth. Our mission is to provide our trainees with job readiness skills to help them achieve their dreams.
Our vision at MAKE Projects is to see San Diegans cross social, racial, economic, and geographic lines as we gather over a common love of food, flavors, and culture. We believe in the power of food to bring diverse populations together, unite a community, and educate each other about our history and differences, as well as our commonalities.
